Chopard
Louis-Ulysse Chopard was the son a farmer from Sonvilier who when he was 24 quickly conquered Switzerland and the world with precision made and reliable unique chronometers and pocket watches, helping him to export to such places as the court of Tsar Nicholas II in Russia. With no heirs interested in running the business Paul Andre Chopard agreed for the take-over of the jewellery business by the Scheufele family in 1963.
Chopard is now one of the last family-run watchmaking and jewellery companies and is currently the official timekeeper for the classic car race Grand Prix de Monaco Historique. They continue to have a close connection with motor sport and are sponsors of the Le Mans winning Porsche team.
